Re: change dither to none? in quality settings?
I've replaced the link with a SendSpace link. Thanks. Got it. Steps: Launch Audacity (new project) Preferences > Quality: Default sample rate: 44100 Default sample format: 32 bit float High quality conversion: High quality / shaped. Preferences > Import export: Read uncompressed directly ... (faste...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
How about "Mute by (dB): How much the audio will fade down."? Done. Pop Mute is intended to reduce clicks and pops. It 'looks ahead' for peaks in the waveform and fades down the audio so that the peak will be at a lower level. After the peak has passed, the audio fades back up to the orig...

Re: change dither to none? in quality settings?
I don't have an account with 4shared but it won't let me download the file without.
Could you upload the file somewhere that registering is not required (for example sendspace.com) or alternatively is it possible to reproduce the problem using generated tones?

Re: how does 'enhanced autocorrction' work?
Audacity does this only for the first time, that's why there are also negative level values in the exported spectrum file (and the plot, I assume). I'm not seeing negative values for Enhanced Autocorrelation data. I am seeing some negative values for Cube root Autocorrelation and Standard Autocorre...

Re: change dither to none? in quality settings?
Going through the process you listed produces 2 files which seem to have the same amount of hiss to me...., the WAV and FLAC seem to be the same... So it's over to you. Tell me how to reproduce the difference that you are hearing, If it requires importing a file, please upload that file somewhere o...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
Here's the new version.
The code has changed a bit, so it would be useful if people could test it and report any problems,
The help screen is as in my previous post.

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
We could just have a brief overview of the effect, followed by a brief description of each of the controls: Pop Mute is intended to reduce clicks and pops. It 'looks ahead' for peaks in the waveform and fades down the audio so that the peak will be at a lower level. After the peak has passed, the au...
Re: File size
By the way - "32 kbps" is not the "sample rate", it is the "bit rate".
"Sample rate" is something different.

Re: File size
While the Export dialogue screen is open, select MP3 as the export format and then click on the "Options" button.
