Re: 2.0.4 - Changing sound card settings

Thanks goodfella. As suspected, WDM-KS doesn't play nice with one of my soundcard's drivers. It certainly seems that is the case. Could you post the "Audio Device info" from Audacity (In the Audacity Help menu) so that we can see if there is a common factor there with the other cases where...

Re: Error Saving Project 2.0.4

I checked Preferences>Directories and found in the Location text field C:DOCUME~1DannaLOCALS~1Tempaudacity_temp for which it says below "Free space: unavailable - above location doesn't exist". "location doesn't exist" will explain the problem. Are you logged into the computer a...

Re: Audacity 2.0.4 doesn't launch on XP

Thanks KeyserS. BTW how long does it take to be 'unlocked' on this forum ? It's getting quite annoying to have to wait for every post to be approved... Not long - in fact, as you are clearly not a spammer I've manually unlocked your account so your posts should appear immediately. The decision to ma...

Re: Metadata Issue

I rip but do not add metadata with Audacity. Audacity does not do "ripping" so I don't know what you mean by that. I then use Tag&Rename to add Metadata. While I use Tag&Rename to add Metadata to a lot of my rips (including CD rips) and to sort the metadata in downloaded files, fo...

Re: Error Saving Project 2.0.4

Now,sometimes, after a few minutes of (supposedly) recording, the audio for the first few minutes disappears and the line in the timeline goes flat For some reason the recorded audio data is not being saved, or is being deleted. Is your computer on a network? Are you trying to record to an external...

It would be better to follow up on your previous posts rather than start a new topic, otherwise you are likely to either get the same replies again, or be ignored by people that have already tried to help. Re: Audacity 2.0.4 does not launch

Should I try an earlier version? Audacity 2.0.3 is available here: http://code.google.com/p/audacity/downloads/detail?name=audacity-win-2.0.3.exe&can=1&q=2.0.3 You should view using 2.0.3 as a temporary measure. It seems to affect only a few XP machines, which makes it difficult to track do...

Re: Warning box re. Audacity file upon booting computer

A "boot time scan" is one that runs on boot-up before Windows loads. Some viruses are able to hide when Windows is running, so detecting them requires scanning while Windows is not running - such as during the boot-up before Windows is loaded.
