Re: V2.0.4 Sample Format Mismatch
As you know MME and WDS do not record at more than 16-bit due to PortAudio limitations. How should I? I am no C++ programmer. It may have been before you came to the forum, but this has been discussed at great lengths on several occasions in the past. Do you know by the way if higher sample formats...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
As I wrote, Pop Mute is "triggered" when the audio goes above the "Threshold" level. Much of the recording is below 3/4 of the track height, so with the settings that I suggested you will probably be able to select and mute multiple pops in one go. You just need to take a little ...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
"Pop mute" will mute the audio when it goes over the "threshold" level. The pops have a level of around -2 dB, but some of the audio also goes over -2 dB, so it will not be possible to run the effect on the entire track in one go. Fortunately, the pops all occur during "sile...

Re: Rolling Stones setup
On a big stage (particularly outdoor stages) the sound dissipates rapidly. A 20 watt amp can sound loud when practising at home, but on a big outdoor stage it would be inaudible over the sound of the audience. There is also the visual aspect that a big guitar stack looks "Rock n Roll". Sma...

Re: isolating bass
Set the "Rolloff (dB per octave)" to "48 dB".
For a more pronounced cut-off you can apply the effect more than once.

Re: Greyed out drop menu!
I can assure they're not in stereo! one channel is just white noise hence the level reading. playing through my monitors - is definitely 1 channel only. As far as Audacity is concerned, it is a "Stereo" track. Audacity is only interested in the number of channels, not what it sounds like ...

Re: Track Matching (normalising) of Video Files?
Audacity only works on audio. If you import a video file into Audacity (requires FFmpeg to be installed) then Audacity will import the audio component of the video. You could then use the aforementioned plug-in to process each of the files and export as WAV files. You should then have a series of WA...

Re: Track Matching (normalising) of Video Files?
I presume that you want to match the same "loudness" in each of your tracks?
If so, there is an experimental plug-in here that you might like to try: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 58#p167758

Re: Greyed out drop menu!
They are already stereo tracks (though they look rather weird with that near constant maxed out sound in the left channel. This is a stereo (2 channel) track: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/m/images/b/b5/split_before.png This is two mono (1 channel) tracks: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/m/image...
