Re: Has anyone found a demodulator for CD4 (Quadraphonic) Vi
That's pretty complex. The difficult parts are getting the demodulation to work correctly and then handling the dynamic expansion correctly. As a proof of concept (but dreadful sound quality) we can demodulate the 30 kHz fm component with something like: (setf s (mult (highpass8 (lowpass8 s 30000) 3...

There is a plug-in available here that may be of use: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 28#p190928
If you have questions about that plug-in, please ask in that topic - the author of that plug-in is more likely to find your post there.

Re: disc not finalized
Google threw this up: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/digital-source/5358-do-not-buy-marantz-cd-players.html The replies say that they have not experienced the problem, but they do not say if they were burning TAO or DAO whereas the original poster specified that his/her problem was when burning DAO....

Re: default "quality" setting 1.2.6 and 2.0
You may have covered this in another topic, but I've been on vacation which reformatted my mental hard drive
Is there any particular reason why you are using 2.0 rather than 2.0.4? (the latter version includes enhancements that are not available for the first 2.x release.

Hi TimDog73, Just to say I'm not ignoring you - I've just got back from vacation/holiday and I'm working my way through a mountain of e-mail. It'll be a while 'till I get to reading through the documentation that you posted but I look forward to doing so as soon as possible.

Audacity 1.2.x on Windows stored preferences in the Windows registry. By default Audacity will inherit preferences from previous versions of Audacity (so that users do not need to remake their preferences on every update). Audacity 2.x stores settings in the audacity.cfg file (as was the case for Au...

Re: Track Matching (normalising) of Video Files?
How would this plug-in compare with the Normalise tool that is already there in Audacity "Normalize" looks only at the peak level (highest or lowest excursion of the waveform), whereas the plug-in tries to assess the "loudness". Peak level can be very different from how loud it ...

Do we need to have only one Help screen? No,we could have 2 or more help screens, though the recent trend has been toward not having help screens at all. Then perhaps say "quiet audio" instead of silences? I thought you might have meant silence (lack of music) between music. Similar setti...

Re: Volume Levelled on 50 MP3 files
The simplest, quickest, and best sound quality solution is to use a player that support ReplayGain or "Sound Check" (iTunes supports Sound Check). Both ReplayGain and Sound Check work in a similar way: You first "scan" the file in the player (usually only takes a few seconds per ...
