Re: Audible.com QC standards

Quite right Koz. Even if the recording meets all of the technical specifications, that will only get it passed Audible's automated test system - after that, someone will listen to it and if sounds bad it will still be rejected even though it meets all the measurements. With the right audio processin...

Re: Audible.com QC standards

Steve, I would be happy to help. What specifically do you need from me? Legally I don't think I can hand you over the entire book but I might be able to do a couple of random chapters from each one. Excellent :) I certainly won't need the entire book, and probably not even whole chapters. Mostly it...

Re: Track numbers in WAV metadata?

If you want tagged lossless files, I suggest using FLAC or ALAC (lossless compression) instead of WAV. The tagging is more standardized, and as a bonus the file size will almost be cut in half! FLAC is one of my favourites - it's a well established standard and it doesn't have Apple or Microsoft ch...

Re: Automatic sampling rate conversion lost in 2.04

Maybe I should uninstall Audacity and then re-install the 2.04. Probably a good idea. And since you have old versions floating around, do a thorough check that Audacity has been completely removed, then (re-)download 2.0.4 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows Download the first file ...

Re: Having trouble combining files in Vista

You don't need to download anything. There are two easy ways to create a screenshot. One is that Windows can make screenshots (screen capture) - details are easy to find on Google. The other way is even easier because it is built into Audacity: Open the Audacity project and resize the window so that...

Re: Does Audacity Use Acceration Tables OR RegisterHotkeys ?

Sorry I don't know the answer to your direct question, but are you able to compile C++ programs from source code? If you are then it may be worth you looking at mod-script-pipe http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Scripting

Re: Audible.com QC standards

It's a good thing you are asking about this now. I just completed my 3rd audiobook and for the first time I got nailed on my levels. You may be in a perfect position to help me :D I've just had a reply back from one of the technical guys at Audible.com with some technical information about how they...
