The "Sliding Stretch" effect is not a plug-in. It is a built-in effect in Audacity 2.4.2.
(see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/sli ... retch.html)
If you still can't find it, try doing a reset ("Tools menu > Reset Configuration")

Re: Label Track Format
do you think the transparency degree could be pushed to complete or strong overlay background transparency instead of only slight ? I don't know if it is adjustable, but I expect that if it were made more transparent that we would receive requests to make it more opaque so that it can be read more ...

In Audacity 2.4.2, "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" was renamed as "Sliding Stretch".

Re: Unrecoverable startup error in 2.4.2 and earlier
I can confirm that exFAT does not work for Audacity's Temp folder.
My speculation is that it may be a permissions issue, as exFAT does not support file permissions.
Probably not a good idea to use exFAT for a hard drive anyway - the format was developed by Microsoft for flash drives.

Re: Remove sound based on profile in other file
i recorded using arecord and parecord. Thanks, that clears my confusion, though it does not explain why you didn't record the mic alone, since that is what you want :? As Koz wrote, you may be able to achieve some amount of reduction of the PC speaker using the "invert and mix" technique,...

Re: Convert .aup to .aup3
As you've probably guessed, there were some problems, and then we hit Christmas. Work has resumed and good progress has been made. All known "P1" bugs are now fixed, though work continues on other important issues. I don't yet have a revised release date - my guess would be some time in Fe...

Re: Remove sound based on profile in other file
Not sure what confuses you, I ran 1 command to record the mic and another to record lineout so I have a recording of the mic and another of the lineout The thing that confuses me is: "at the same time". It confuses me because Audacity cannot record two different things at the same time, u...

Re: Label Track Format
By the way, the label track name overlay with transparency seems to have been part of the overlay option in some earlier release, but does not seem to be there anymore in the current 2.3.4 and 2.3.3 releases. I think that is a bug in the current version of Audacity that slipped in with Audacity 2.4...

Re: Remove sound based on profile in other file
I have a recording from a PC mic and want to remove sound that came from the PC speaker, at the same time that recorded the mic I recorded the speaker output so have an exact profile I want to remove, can this be done? I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but my initial impression is that it is prob...
