Re: volume matching/following
Try applying quite a lot of "compression" to the vocal tracks, then balance them manually. You should find that after compressing the dynamics (which evens out the volume in each track) it is a lot easier to balance the vocal harmonies. Try Chris's Dynamic Compressor http://theaudacitytopo...

Re: Sample Rate and Bit Depth Question
Leave Audacity preferences at the default 32 bit float, 44100 Hz sample rate and set "High-quality Conversion > Dither: None".

Re: Sample Rate and Bit Depth Question
Thanks. So are you recording with the "Master Fader app" on your iPad? When importing audio into a new Audacity project, Audacity will set the project sample rate to either the default (as set in preferences) or to the sample rate of the audio that is imported, if that is higher. The "...

What did you record with?didge wrote:The files to be edited are recorded from my Mackie DL1608 mixer and in the specs, it says it uses a 48khz sample rate and 24-bit bit depth
Do those specs refer to the mixer or to the recording device?

Re: Noise removal doesn't respond
I followed the directions for noise removal (select a few seconds of noise; then click Get Noise Removal). But absolutely nothing happens. Noise Removal is a 2 step process. First you need to capture a noise profile, then you need to run the effect a second time to remove the noise. See here for mo...

Re: Audacity Guitar Notes + Scriping
I'll do that on my own since Nyquist seems fun I think it's fun :P We also have a board on this forum specifically for things to do with Nyquist programming. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=39 Feel free to ask questions on that board, and / or share the results of your Nyquist program...

Re: Tape snagged
I was hoping I could save the file at the end of the day and then next day continue recording on the same file Yes you can do that (sort of) using "Append Record". I say "sort of" because an Audacity Project is not "a file". An Audacity project is made up of lots of li...

Re: GUI: Can we see steps instead of ramp (on zoom)
I thought that my response might be unpopular ;) so I'll pass this over to someone more eloquent than myself http://xiph.org/video/vid2.shtml I will look elsewhere for a solution. You've not really said what the problem is that you are trying to solve. What is the required step image for? The Spectr...

Re: Tape snagged
There's several approaches that you can take. You can simply pause the recording ("P" key or click the pause button) then resume. You can stop the recording, then "Append Record" ("Transport menu > Append Record" or "shift + R") You could record several short ...
