Re: Bandwith limited when ripping vinyl

You may notice that the spectrum plot in my image has the horizontal scale set to "logarithmic". This is more like the way that ears hear. On a logarithmic scale, octaves are evenly spaced horizontally, The maximum frequency that can be represented in PCM digital audio is half of the sampl...

Re: Has anyone found a demodulator for CD4 (Quadraphonic) Vi

There's always a nasty click in the beginning. Yes I noticed  The only advantage, that I can see so far is the automatic carrier detection. I wonder how accurate the specified frequency is? I guess it will be highly dependent on the quality and condition of the turntable. Also, how much the s...

Re: how do i record fom my ipod to a file on my desktop

I'm not sure what you are asking or why you are asking here. Does this question have anything to do with Audacity? iTunes support is here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ We don't offer e-mail support, and posting your e-mail address on a public forum is a good way to attract lots of spam to yo...

Re: Can't remove clunk from audio cassette transfer

If you zoom in vertically you will see a "wiggle" at around 7.57 seconds to 7.61. Probably the best way to remove the clunk is to copy a short section from just before the clunk onto a new track, and then cross-fade it like this: crossfade.png The result: no-clunk.flac Some tips on cross-f...

How are you doing that? An Ion USB cassette player? An old Revox reel to reel tape machine plugged into the laptop microphone socket? Other?

Re: Make my mixes lauder

Probably a good idea to run "Amplify" or "Normalize" after Chris's compressor to ensure that the music does not clip at 0 dB.

OO > Object orientated.
Not pretty in Nyquist, but good for processing sounds sample by sample.

Re: Bandwith limited when ripping vinyl

Audible sound is within the range 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. This assumes "perfect" hearing for a person under 16. The ability to hear very high frequencies declines with age. For adults the upper frequency limit is usually around 16,000 Hz or less, and usually declines further as the person gets...

Re: Has anyone found a demodulator for CD4 (Quadraphonic) Vi

Cool.
You lost me here:
Where did this equation come from?

Code: Select all

  (atan (+ (* s-1 c0) (* c-1 s0))
        (- (* c-1 c0) (* s-1 s0)))
(psetq c-1 c0 s-1 (* -1 s0))
This would probably be handled OO.
