Re: Misleading behavior of Make Stereo Track
Personally I think that I would find the proposed behaviour extremely annoying. If I have Mary singing on the first "Audio Track" and Jane singing on the second "Audio Track", I don't expect Mary to suddenly jump down below Jane. As far as I'm aware there are no other audio editi...

Re: Audacity 2.0.4 multitrack with Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL
but isn't WASAPI only partly implemented? Weren't there some problems with implementing it fully? Sorry for going over old ground, but not being on Windows myself I find it hard to keep up with the current state of things on Windows.Gale Andrews wrote:but there are no reports of WASAPI doing so.

that link was just for converting them - without the normalizng and compression I was thinking about SoX http://sox.sourceforge.net/ It can do normalizing, compression, trimming and encoding. There are some example scripts in this topic: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=53669 ...

Re: Crash Issues
20,000 files, 300 at a time is going to take a while. Have you thought of scripting a batch file (along the lines of what was suggested in the topic that I linked to)? I'm not sure what scripting support there is on Mac OS X, but being Unix based you may have access to Bash. Does this mean anything ...

Perhaps it could be an alternative behaviour for the brush/spray can?Gale Andrews wrote:It might also be too similar to Draw Tool's smoothing brush (or spray can on Linux).
"Alt" for one, "Shift+Alt" for the other?

Re: Misleading behavior of Make Stereo Track
I bet you it would stop the complaints though. but now we are into conjecture about how many complaints would stop and how many new complaints there would be. Or of course you could make a patch for "Swap Channels" in the Drop-Down Menu. Yes, I think that would be quite easy to do. Is the...

Re: Bandwith limited when ripping vinyl
So, if I understand well, a CD quality is like the best we can find (16/44.1)? My understanding is the 16/44.1 is sufficient for high quality playback. There have been several extensive studies using double blind testing and they all agree that people cannot tell the difference between a good quali...

Re: increase volume before burning cd
1). From what I've been reading, using Amplify w/the default New Peak Amplitude at 0, my cd should come out just fine, no worries about any clipping. If so, why is the default (and from what I've read, recommended) Normalize setting -1.0 and not 0 (I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times bu...

Re: Crash Issues
What processing do you actually need? If it is just MP3 encoding then Audacity may not be the best tool - some ideas here: http://www.discogs.com/groups/topic/151711 I presume that you are aware that MP3 encoded files always have a short bit of silence at the start (just a fraction of a second, but ...
