Re: gsnap installation and use

Audacity is a 32-bit application so won't see 64-bit versions of VST plug-ins, even on 64-bit operating systems.

Re: Misleading behavior of Make Stereo Track

If there was a "Swap Channels" item, do you think it should only be active on a stereo track Yes. If I have three tracks, left above right above mono, and use the drop-down on the third track, what would "Swap channels" do? I've no idea. Nothing? Swap tracks 1 and 2? Swap tracks...

Re: Misleading behavior of Make Stereo Track

I get the impression these users are commonly playing around with a few mono tracks, using the "Left Channel" and "Right Channel" in the drop-down to switch channel assignment, and then intuitively expect no channel reversal when the channels are joined. There's the rub. They do...

Re: Periodic sound sampling over time

If you are on Linux you can simply schedule arecord (or any other command line recorder) as a Cron task.

Re: Can't remove clunk from audio cassette transfer

In case it helps, a little "trick" when dealing with low level signals: 1) Select a short section that includes the part that you want to work on. 2) Press Ctrl+I (or "Edit > Clip Boundaries > Split") 3) Amplify the selection by an easy to remember amount, for example +20 dB or +...

Re: A Nyquist de-esser, and more?

I don't archive as .wav files when I can just keep my .aup projects Personally, I don't like to archive as Audacity Projects - It's a great format for Audacity to work in, but to me it seems rather precarious for archiving. Also, it is not an uncommon question on this forum: "How do I automate...

As I wrote before, the instructions for building Audacity with ASIO support are here: Instructions are here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/ASIO_Audio_Interface
If you attempt it and you get stuck, please start a new topic here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=19

Re: A Nyquist de-esser, and more?

I see no difference between the first two, "AM Radio" and "FM Radio" qualities. Did Audible make a mistake? Well spotted. They are indeed both exactly the same file. The format is: Audio Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 2.5 Format profile : Layer 3 Duration : 35s 317...

Re: Recording error is messing up stereo

So what settings are you using to record from Guitar Pro? In particular, the settings in the device toolbar and the Windows Sound Control Panel.
