Re: Question about high and lowpass filters and noise remova
So, I gather that listening to the difference between the original and high or lowpass filtered signals will not give a clear idea of what frequency components are subtracted, because there is indeed phase shift in the passband that I can see with a zoomed in view of the waveform. I don't understan...

Re: Lame installation
I can see the audacity folder...highlighted it in preferences under locate Normally Audacity should detect Lame automatically, but if it does not do so, you need to navigate to the file lame_enc.dll not just to the Lame folder. Do you know which version of Windows you are using? So you know if it i...

Re: Query about 16-bit and 32-floating bit
since I prefer the .ogg format, how can I set Audacity so that I have the highest quality ogg file? When you export from Audacity, in the export dialogue screen; select "Ogg" as the file type and then click on the "Options" button. 10 is highest quality (biggest file size) and 0...

Re: Saved as file
I re-installed it for the 4th time now its working. Unless you also selected the option to Reset Preferences, reinstalling Audacity makes no difference at all to Audacity. That would suggest that the problem was nothing to do with Audacity. If you rebooted the computer, that could have made a diffe...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
It's strange, but if I record something with one 'Host', I find I can't record anything else afterwards on the same 'Host' - especially when I have closed Audacity and re-started it later. I just get a flickering at the left side of the window instead of the recording 'Blue Lines'. I then have to s...

Re: Nothing is clickable
Okay, but I don't think it matters from what I'm seeing. I want to be able to remove several minutes of audio from an MP3, that is scattered throughout the audio. Are there any tutorials on this? Basic editing is described in the manual here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_editing_an...

Install pavucontrol (PulseAudio Volume Control) if you don't already have it. Open pavucontrol and go to the "Input Devices" tab and ensure that there is a signal present for the input that you want to use. Here you can see that the microphone input for the built-in sound card is active: U...

Re: Saved as file
The first thing to do is to tell Windows to show you the file extension (see here: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/28650-windows ... extensions)
and check that the files have ".wav" as the file extension.
and check that the files have ".wav" as the file extension.

Re: Query about 16-bit and 32-floating bit
what is the best format (and settings) to use to get the best quality audio file, yet not too big for my website demos? For very short audio extracts you could use WAV format, but note that they weigh in at around 10 MB per minute for CD quality. For longer tracks, Ogg can produce excellent quality...

Re: tune analysis for musicians
It's a feature request, but please move it to the "Nyquist > New Plug-ins" forum after you have transferred it - I think there could be some interesting challenges here for plug-in developers.
