Re: Nothing is clickable
I looked at the manual and just don't see how I delete sections of my MP3 in Audacity. Open Audacity "File menu > Import" to import your MP3 file Click and drag along the waveform to highlight (darker grey) the part that you want to delete. "Command + K" (or "Delete" i...

Mix to New Track
Ctrl+Shift+M
I use this a lot. I wonder how many users know that it exists.
Feature Request:
Add "Mix to New Track (Ctrl+Shift+M)" to the Tracks menu.
The code for this is trivial.

Re: New to Audacity but want to record my DJ mixes HHHEEELLP
Probably the biggest problem for sound quality is the built in sound cards of your computer. You say that the recording quality of your laptop is rubbish - unless you upgraded the sound card in the old PC then that is probably not great either. Around $30 will get you a "Behringer UCA 202"...

No real time preview yet, but quite a few enhancements and bug fixes have gone into the new 2.0.5 version.
2.0.5 is due for release in a matter of days. If you want to try it now, 2.0.5rc1 (release candidate) for Windows is available here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 41#p225741

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands
Thanks for the info Robert. I've now installed NVDA on my virtual XP machine. I can see the annoyances with loosing the selections. It appears to be a quirk of using NVDA (or perhaps screen readers in general). I've attached a patch that adds "Move Track to Top", "Move Track to Bottom...

Did you save the Audacity project?
Did you close Audacity, without saving the project before checking the exported file?
Did you "clean up" (delete or move) any files or folders before you exported the file?

It is OK to just run the installer over the top of the existing installation then? I mean, I don't have to uninstall anything first do I? As long as you are using the default installation location (which I assume you did the first time), then just install it over the top, but ensure that you select...

From a programming perspective, there is an excellent eBook, and it gets better - it's free: http://www.dspguide.com/Paul L wrote:About time I give myself a bit of proper education in DSP... I'm not math averse, just lazy. Is there a good textbook in eBook form that is also inexpensive?
