Re: Can I create an Lt-Rt mixdown in Audacity?
Also worth noting that much of the "phase relationship" stuff goes out of the window when playing through domestic hi-fi equipment in a living room (non-ideal acoustic environment). You should be able to achieve pretty good results just mixing by ear, and inverting the side channels if it ...

Try removing your current version of Lame, then re-install Lame by precisely following these instructions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... .html#lame

Re: Can't get Audacity to record...
You seem to have some audio pathways open on your machine that are not open on mine. We'll need to find what and where they are.
Open Audacity and select "Help > Audio Device Info".
When the info box appears, copy the contents and paste it into your reply.

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
My next suggestion is to try the new 2.0.5rc1 version. It is available here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 41#p225741
Install it in the same way and reset preferences during the installation. Again you can just install it over the top of your current version.

Re: Best Audacity config for low freq recording project ?
You can also tell Audacity to record in 16 bit format (Edit > Preferences > Quality) which will reduce the size of the recording. A mono recording will be half the size of a stereo recording, so be sure to set the number of channels to "1 (mono)" in the device toolbar . With the sample rat...

Re: Help with Beats Per Measure
If you use this plug-in http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 33#p196933 with the click track in the first song you should get a pretty accurate value for the bpm of the first click track.

Re: Can't get Audacity to record...
One thing I sometimes do is record a sound clip from an internet site while listening to it. Set Audacity to record from "default" or "pulse" (whichever works) and put Audacity into record mode (record may be paused, or you can just click on the recording meter to activate "...

What are you trying to record?
Is this on a laptop?
Are you using headphones?

Re: Exported wav is silent and I exported over the original
I just assumed it would work. It's a computer. I've been working with computers since the mid '80 and they rarely "just work" (not even Macs). ;) So what is this 500 mb file of silence I now have? Can the sound be retrieved from it? It's a large, silent audio file. I very much doubt that ...
