Re: Change Speed Default

How are you doing that?
It's probably better to resolve the cause of this problem than just treat the symptoms.

Re: Removing Higher Frequencies

I'm sorry, but I know so little that I don't understand your post and have no idea what a Hi Pass Filter is. A high-pass filter is a filter that allows high frequencies and blocks low frequencies. A low-pass filter does the opposite - it allows low frequencies and blocks high frequencies. Audacity ...

Re: Any option to group installed plug-ins?

Actually solanus it was mainly Audacity testers, QA, documenters (mainly power users) who complained about the increased clicking that was required that led to its removal as an experimental feature. For the record, I was, and still am, very much in favour of grouping plug-ins, though I agree that ...

Re: Can't record - Windows 8 - Audacity 2.0.4

This may be related to a driver problem that is known about in 2.0.4. If that's the problem then it should be fixed in 2.0.5 which is due to be released in a few days.

In the current 2.x series, any of the menu items can be easily disabled through using the translation files.

Re: Windows 8 64 Bit User Need Help with Plug-ins.

Audacity is a 32 bit application and I believe it only supports 32 bit plug-ins (even on a 64 bit system). There is a simple to use Limiter that is a "Nyquist plug-in". It is available here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=150498#p150498 Instructions for installing: http://wi...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks

You did not answer the other implied question: what good would it be to do time smoothing, but not frequency smoothing? In other words, just lowpass at a constant frequency. There was an implied answer to your implied question ;) "though there is a very slight "wobble" in the frequen...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3

I was wondering if over-writing files could be the cause. When recording a serial, of course, it is easier to record the first episode, copy it to another folder and then rename the original file with the next episode number. Maybe if I didn't do this and named the recording at the time of conversi...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks

I might attempt something more complicated that adapts the cutoff to the click Certainly - was just passing on some ideas. blends more of the original sound so as not to silence the bad frequencies but only make their amplitude similar to the surrounding sound, etc. You may need to be careful when ...
