Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands

If I have one track and hold CTRL + D (duplicate) down, Audacity will quickly freeze up, with or without History open. Does it do that on a fast Linux machine like yours? My Linux machine is not particularly "high power". It has 3 GB of ram and was the cheapest laptop that I could find ab...

Re: Delete sound higher than specific DB.

I'm still not quite sure what you mean. 1)Do you mean that you want to reduce the level when there is loud talking so that it becomes silent? Or: 2) Do you want to "delete" the loud sounds, so for example, if you have 10 seconds of quiet sound, followed by 3 seconds of loud talking, follow...

Re: Delete sound higher than specific DB.

I'm trying to understand exactly what you hope to do.
What do you mean by "Delete"?

Re: Delete beginning of multiple files

There's a plug-in available for trimming the start/end of files, but it may not produce the result that you want. As well as the sound quality loss that Koz mentioned, one of the limitations of the MP3 format is that MP3s always have a small bit of silence at the beginning, so you can never get an i...

Re: Restore Audacity to Default Settings

I think Koz meant "only" reinstalling does not reset Audacity. You have to manually select the "Reset Preferences" option as described in the link. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... html#reset

Re: Audacity 2.0.3 online manual

Thank you for your help. I've installed 2.0.5 and deleted the earlier versions, will be able to try it tomorrow. Are there any basic differences between the old and new versions I need to know when recording LP's? Mostly bug fixes. I don't think there's much that will affect you, but the changes ar...

Re: How can I locate specific sounds in a recording?

For some reason I cannot get the sample .wav file to upload Steve I've tried adding it to my reply here using both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I'm fairly used to the upload procedure and can't understand what's going wrong. I type my reply then select the file for uploading and it shows th...

Re: slope not behaving as documented

But experiments suggests that the starting time is always zero. That's one of the differences between running standalone Nyquist and Nyquist in Audacity. When running a Nyquist (process) effect in Audacity, the start of the selection becomes "time zero" for Nyquist, and warp is stretched ...
