It was introduced in Audacity 2.0.4.
The current version of Audacity is 2.0.5 and it is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: Any option to group installed plug-ins?

If this was only about "Nyquist Plug-ins", then it would be an easy problem to solve. The Nyquist Plug-ins are invariably open source, and we can modify them to set a category/group for each effect. Audacity then just reads the category/group "tag" and could move it into the appr...

Re: Track Drop-down Menu commands

I like the idea of a View command that does that, though it would not not entirely solve the question of whether "Move Track to Bottom" should scroll because your solution doesn't cover people who want to move unselected tracks and still see them. Yes, and that's why the second option &qu...

Re: 64-bit recording issue

Trying to narrow down the problem: Whenever I try to record anything that's playing on my laptop, it comes out very distorted. It'll be semi-coherent for like two or three seconds before even that goes away. It might go back and forth sometimes between semi-coherent and totally incoherent, but that'...

Re: Norton causing recordings not able to be saved

I've tried lots of things, but came across disabling Norton and disconnecting the computer from the internet, as the solution. Can you remember where you came across that? The person that wrote it may have given some indication why/how Norton interferes with Audacity. I've noticed that most times I...

Re: audacity doesn't show WDM

Assuming that you are on a Windows machine, try the MME option in Audacity, then look for the USB device in the recording input box of the device toolbar.

Re: Amplify and dither

It's not likely to make a huge difference either way. Ensure that you have the current 2.0.5 version of Audacity: http://audacityteam.org/download/ (this version fixes a problem with applying too much dither when exporting stereo tracks). Amplification of 16 bit audio would produce harmonic distorti...

Re: Delete sound higher than specific DB.

Try "Chris’s Dynamic Compressor". It will even out the volume changes. Try it with all default settings except for the "Ratio" (the first control). Try setting the Ratio to about 0.8 The plug-in is available here: http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-f...
