Re: Help with recording using mixtrack pro
Does that make sense? Yes. It sounds like they have made it difficult so that you have to buy their software. ;) Ensure that the Mixtrack Pro is connected and switched on before you open Audacity. Then look in Audacity "Help menu > Audio device info". Wait a few moments for the info to ap...

Re: How can I locate specific sounds in a recording?
In the instructions you gave me I guess the line “"Normalize" effect. Set "Normalize maximum amplitude" to -1 dB” amplifies the recording so that the Sound Finder can pick out the barking events better, could you give me an instruction that would bring them back to something lik...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
They are much appreciated, but I will just potter along as I am. I'm sorry that we've not been able to resolve this issue for you. There seems to be some sort of unusual conflict going on with your computer and we've not been able to pin down what or where it is. Even if we are not able to "fi...

Re: expand on Norm's new track name in display

Audacity's current ability is to show the track name (in yellow) or not, as set in Preferences (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/interface_preferences.html#behaviors). The additio...

Re: Audacity Loop Bug?
If we want the restriction it doesn't strike me as very useful to keep it open in the CTRL + R case, It probably isn't very useful, but it's not the only "loophole" so I'm looking more at the question of whether it's worth closing the loopholes. It hardly seems worth closing one loophole ...

Re: automate creating labels?
The speech samples come from over a 100 different people, so some people are likely to have spoken with higher or lower volume than others. Is it possible to compare the volume levels of all of (or many of) the samples, then standardize them so they all have the same minimum/maximum volumes? The &q...
