Re: Ubuntu 13.10 64bit playback problem
Try rebooting and then open Audacity. Ensure that no other audio applications are running, then try the "hw:" options in the playback settings. (in this context, Flash video in your web browser counts as an audio application). The "hw:" options should access the sound card direct...

Re: major BUG in 2.0.5: exported files not bit-to-bit identi
This never happened in earlier versions It should have done. Audacity is designed for high quality audio production. If you are doing scientific experiments rather than audio production then you will need to make some tweaks to the preference settings. For best quality audio production, Audacity wo...

Re: 2.0.2 on Vista - Clicking black merge line crashes Audac
If you record or import then generate silence at zero (as I assume the poster does) or at the end of the track, a split line is produced. Generating silence (or generating any audio) at either end of an audio clip will leave a split line between the generated audio and the original clip. If I follo...

Re: Basic Editing -- HELP!
You will probably find the "Getting Started" section of the manual useful: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/quick_help.html You can also access that section directly from Audacity (assuming that you installed Audacity with the recommended installer): "Help menu > Quick Help" In o...

Re: Silent Sound Function to recreate original patent
I'm curious if 1) If any changes/updates can be made for ver. 2.0.5 I'm not sure what you're asking. What do you want? 2) does this "Silent Sound Function" *exactly* recreate what the original patent produced? As in the previous topic: The first code sample is modelled on Lowry's method. ...

Re: 2.0.2 on Vista - Clicking black merge line crashes Audac
Question: Should I just ignore the splice lines and get on with my sessions? There's probably no need to remove the split lines, though if a track has lots of split lines you can "join" the splits all in one go by selecting the track then press Ctrl+J . "Join" is also in "E...

Re: Freezes - Critical Nyquist files not found
You've not installed Audacity correctly. This usually occurs if you try to run Audacity directly from the dmg rather than installing it.
Ensure that you install Audacity according to the instructions here: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac

This is what I got when using the recipe on each audio clip. (I've also amplified your voice so that you can hear which clip is which).

Re: not play the song in mp3 format
Audacity does not run on android phones. If MP3s don't play through your phone's speaker there is nothing we can do about that as it has nothing to do with Audacity.

Re: How can I locate specific sounds in a recording?
The Normalize effect brings the maximum amplitude up to the specified level, which in our recipe is -1 dB. Even after filtering, the loudest sound (highest peak level) in the Sunday file is your voice (I presume that is your voice). Therefore, when we Normalize, it will bring your (filtered) voice l...
