Re: WAV file exports with.1st1 extensions
Don't use the dot character (.) in the file name. If you enter a file name with no dots, then Audacity will add the appropriate file extension. So if you enter "song" as the file name and export as a WAV file, it will be exported as "song.wav" Audacity thinks that if you use a do...

Import both files. Ensure that the file that you want first is at the top. If it isn't at the top, click on the information panel on the left end of the track and drag the track up or down as required - take care to not click on one of the buttons or sliders. Then press Ctrl+A (shortcut for "Se...

Re: Should I use flat-top windows?
Bandcut filters created by combining high and low shelf filters are simple to implement. Are they steep enough for your needs? (if the slope is > 1 the passband response gets a noticeable peak in its frequency response).

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
Research has failed to show that any human can (though in the early days of digital audio there may have been a detectable difference - technology has moved on since then).kozikowski wrote:48000 carries very very high pitched sounds slightly better. Most humans can't tell the difference.

Re: Long Standing Hissing Debacle (Audacity 2.03)
The only thing you can do to get above the noise is to get louder and you can't get too loud without hitting overload and clipping. Most USB microphones are pre-set to make it difficult to be "too loud". Consequently, many of them tend to record rather too quiet for spoken word. Some USB ...

Re: Playback with pulseaudio on Ubuntu
I've had a reply from the maintainer of that PPA. The PPA build that you have has been tested and is not at fault. You should get the same results when building audacity from source with the same configure flags (preferring system libraries over local libraries). If you have non-standard system libr...

Re: Need Guidance on Wet gain and Dry gain in Reverb
Then what? You arrive at a good mixture and you want to create the finished track. Koz Export will automatically mix all of the tracks in the project into one audio file. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/exporting_audio.html Alternatively you can "pre-mix" the wet and dry tracks into ...

Re: How can I record form the system and the Mic?
For Skype there is "Skype Call Recorder" (http://atdot.ch/scr/). This works well on my Debian machine and is relatively easy to set up and use. The more general "record my microphone and sounds playing on the computer at the same time " is possible on Linux (but there are several...

Re: Deleting Portion of Music Track
Thanks1 How do I get 2 tracks (different files) to open in the same window, to stitch them together??? I've tried the YouTube videos - ng. Gini D. How do you want to "stitch them together"? Do you want both tracks to be "mixed" (so they both play at the same time)? Do you want t...

Perhaps they talk louder and closer to the mic than you do.Fegel wrote:Pretty much every demo I've seen has crystal clear audio that appears to have no interference-edits like mine.
For every 1 dB that you can make the voice signal bigger, that is 1 dB less noise.
