Re: Percent change in pitch for every change in speed
As this is the Audacity forum, and as you didn't specify otherwise, I assumed that you were referring to speed and pitch change as they occur in the Audacity effect (Change Speed, Change Tempo, Change Pitch). If that is not what you are talking about, please describe what you are doing and how you a...

Re: Percent change in pitch for every change in speed
The relationship between speed and frequency is very simple: Double the speed and you double the frequency. Double the frequency and you double the speed. The change in speed is directly proportional to the change in frequency. Converting from frequency to pitch is a bit tricky, but there are tables...

Why not include an Export in the chain?Edgar wrote:with the exception of anything that includes an Export.
For example, I might want to export a backup copy of the file after DC offset removal and before Click removal.

Re: How can I improve low bass levels in a live recording?
"Plot Spectrum" (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/plot_spectrum.html) displays a graph that plots amplitude against frequency. For use with music it is generally better to set the frequency scale to "logarithmic". On the graph, low frequencies are on the left and high frequen...

Re: Search for words in a digitized recording
Why not use the change tempo effect? It is certainly faster than sliding time/pitch shift. The sound quality is usually not as good with Change Tempo, but on most machines it should be a lot faster than Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift. Also, Change Tempo has a "Preview" button that allow...

Re: Export Multiple: Hide Metadata Editor after first file.
I think Steve has "slightly" moved towards my idea of having a single checkbox [No Metadata] in each export window (which exports no metadata and hides Metadata Editor). If it provides a solution to being able to export with no metadata, then I can probably be convinced ;) I think that &q...

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
i meant to say the timing is unaffected. That does not make much sense either. If it is some type of sample rate mismanagement (which seems to have been assumed so far) then it would affect both the pitch and the tempo. I can't believe this topic has gone on for so long without a sample of the prob...

Can you give an example of a Chain that would be a problem on import?Edgar wrote: but this would require a lot of conditional coding because only some Chain-available processes are appropriate on import
