Re: How to delete the right channel of an MP3?
I tried selecting Left Channel in the little drop-down menu to the left of the track but that didn't work. That should work. It works here. Perhaps you should try that again. To be sure that you are listening to the new exported track and not the original, give the exported track an obvious and dis...

Re: not recording
this time I was playing and recording while taking pictures What U Hear is showing no bars Well at least that explains why Audacity is not "hearing" anything - There is nothing for Audacity to hear. Right click on the "What U Hear" icon and select "Properties". Check t...

Re: File size increases
The original file was ADPCM encoded. ADPCM is only 4 bits per sample. Your new file is 16 bit PCM, so there are 4 times as many bits per sample, which is why it is (almost) 4 times bigger. To export with ADPCM encoding, select "Other uncompressed files" as the file type, then click on the ...

Re: Audacity Audio/ Playback Problem
My guess is that there is a problem with your sound card drivers. It's a pain if that is the problem, so let's try something else first. Reinstall Audacity 2.0.5, and watch for the option to "Reset Preferences". Select that option when it appears, and complete the installation. When you st...

Re: Time shift change does not apply after saving
When you export, any "white space" at the start of the track is ignored. Here I had a project with one audio track that has "white space" (a gap) before the start. I then exported the track and then imported the track back in ("Imported Track"). The "white space&qu...

Re: Default export wav instead of save aup
Is it possible to make this default when you close audacity and the let the question for export appear and not save aup option? When you close Audacity, any changes that you have made to Preferences should be saved and in place the next time that you open Audacity. Is it the "Save changes befo...

Re: Recording to Click Track Breaks Copy Paste
I'm recording guitar tracks with a microphone set to cardioid, this setting usually prefers one channel (in my case the left) Probably better to set the number of recording channels to "1 (mono)" in the device toolbar . If recorded to a generated click track. When I copy+paste the track, ...
