Re: My mic is recording system audio and I don't want it

from the pictures, it seems that the black connector of the AKG microphone is a mono connector. On the other hand, the red connector of the Logitech microphone is a stereo connector That's because the Logitech is an electret mic and as such it needs to be powered. The "extra" connector pr...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks, again

please share examples of bad sounding repairs of music. Here's a before / after example. The click is attenuated, but it leaves a "hole" in the sound: declick.wav I tried adjusting some of the settings but go the error: "SFT3F window: 228857 samples 780 periods 150.303 Hz" "...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks, again

One of the advantages of making a tool that is for a specific job (in this case removing mouth smacks) there is often a lot of optimisation that can be done for that specific task. So, for example, if you find that one control always works best when set between 45% and 55% you can probably do withou...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks, again

(Some effects have connected sliders that are not independent but I don't know that Nyquist supports that.) Not yet, but we hope to have that in version 4 plug-ins. Don't hold your breath though, it could be quite a long wait before we get version 4. Could perhaps the "number of bands" co...

Re: My mic is recording system audio and I don't want it

As you can see the akg connector is different from the logitech one, could this be the culprit? I don't think so, but perhaps not impossible. Is your computer a laptop computer? If it is, then it will probably have one or more built in microphones. If you set Audacity recording with the built in mi...

Re: Multiband EQ effect causes crash on Win7 home

I'm Finnish myself but I've only thought of EQ as EQ, not "Taajuuskorjain" :) I can see how that might be confusing. which is correct but not a regular term in my vocabulary This is sometimes an issue with translations. There is so much "technical" equipment and software release...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks, again

I hope you think the repair is good enough. I've not tested much but as long as the repaired sections occur during quiet sections it seems to work pretty well (which I guess will usually be the case for "mouth smacks"). In music it can make unpleasant "holes" in the sound, so I ...

Re: Convert frequency of sine tone to vibration (tremolo)

The code that I posted could be easily adapted so give: 50 - 100 Hz will not be modulated 100 - 150 Hz will be modulated with 10 Hz 150 - 200 Hz will be modulated with 20 Hz 200 - 250 Hz will be modulated with 30 Hz Actually there is a problem with "turning off" the modulation. In effect ...
