I do see there is an option to install a third party FFmpeg library that would allow importing wma. FFmpeg will work for most WMA files, but not all. DRM protected files cannot be imported. Try running the Audacity installer again and watch out for the option to "Reset Preferences". Select that option and continue the installation. When you start Audacity, confirm that you want to reset preferences. If the problem remains after that, then the problem may be with the sound car...
