What is the file extension of "name of the file"?

You will need a pair of "RCA to 1/4" (mono) Jack" leads to connect the "Line out" from the tape deck to the two "Line In" sockets on the front of the UM2 ("Line in 1" is a combined Jack / XLR socket).

Perhaps worth doing a health check on your computer disk. Is it a hdd, SSD or something else?
