I think that a "repeat for x octaves" would be useful. The wording does not need to be that, but for a cycle to match up smoothly it probably needs to go for a full octave per cycle.
Just as "food for thought", there is a similar effect for rhythm.

Just played an audio file and it was ok so the sound card has nt gone There's 2 sides to a sound card, input and output. It may be worth checking to see if Windows has update...

My first guess is that your sound card has just gone belly up.

Open the project.
Select the song that you are having problems with.
Press play and ensure that the entire song plays correctly.
"File menu > Export Selection" to export the selected song.

What happens? Does that work?
