Re: Can microphone instability be compensated in Audiacity?

Re: Fade in on Compressor
I guess my goals are two fold: (1) Level off any loud peaks in the voice (2) Give the voice that extra bit of polish (ie: the 'radio sound') that only a compressor can give. I like compressors. Unlike most effects that tend to be quite "scientific" or "clinical", compressor alwa...

Re: Shepard Tone in Audacity?
I think that a "repeat for x octaves" would be useful. The wording does not need to be that, but for a cycle to match up smoothly it probably needs to go for a full octave per cycle.

Re: Audio pattern
Wow that's impressive.
My first guess is that your sound card has just gone belly up.
Nothing changed as far as you're aware that could relate to the problem?

Open the project.
Select the song that you are having problems with.
Press play and ensure that the entire song plays correctly.
"File menu > Export Selection" to export the selected song.
What happens? Does that work?

Re: Shepard Tone in Audacity?
I'd suggest that for an initial version, to make it very simple, but written and commented in a way that allows the effect to be expanded should there be sufficient demand.Robert J. H. wrote:There are many possibilities, how simple or complicated we want the plug-in to be.

Here's a "before and after" sample. Is this what you mean by "compensating"?

Re: Adding silent space every 30 seconds over 45 min MP3
Yes, there is a great need for this when transcribing, a plug in would be very helpful for many. I've made it into a plug-in. It is available here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=230472#p230472 Please try this plug-in and let me know (by replying to that topic) if it works OK or if y...
