Re: Burning to a CD

LAME is not required for this task. LAME is only required for exporting in MP3 format, which is not what you need. Re: Audacity plays songs way too fast

Playhead moves at about 5 times speed but i can tell the sound out the speakers is not simply what that would represent. Hitting the stop button crashes the app requiring a force quit....

If you find those keys inconvenient but use them a lot you could customise the shortcuts for more convenient keys. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ke ... ences.html

Re: burn mp3 files to cd

An MP3 data CD can hold several hours of audio, but as explained, it will not play on your CD player unless your CD player supports playing MP3 data CDs.

Yes, 79.8 minutes is an absolute maximum for Red Book compliance. Burn failure rate tends to increase rapidly close to the limit so I generally prefer to not go much over about 72 minutes.

Re: burn mp3 files to cd

The maximum duration of a standard audio CD (Red book standard) is 79.8 minutes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_Disc_Digital_Audio Some CD players can play MP3 data disks (Yellow book standard), but many CD players can't. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3_CD Most good CD burning software provide...
