Import into Audacity.
Change the "Project Rate" to 44100 (lower left corner of the main Audacity window)
Export a new file (File menu > Export)

OK, got it.
It's working fine here until I run out of RAM, then it crashes (as expected).
So what do I need to do to reproduce the problem?

Audacity does not ship with a noise gate so you will need to say which one you are using and where to get it from.

Could you tell us the exact error message? That may give an indication of what the problem is.

According to that there is a recording input option for "Device name: Microphone (High Definition Audio)"
Are you sure that option is not listed in the device toolbar?
