Re: Overdub Problems

Try selecting HDA Intel PCH: ALC270 Analog(hw:0,0) Note that this will bypass PulseAudio which means that Audacity will need exclusive access to the sound card - no other applications using audio playback at the same time. If you have had other audio applications playing, you may need to log out and...

Re: Audacity 2.0.5 compilation fails on Debian Squeeze

Audacity supports FFmpeg 0.5 through 0.8. Later versions are not currently supported.
The easiest way round the problem is to build Audacity without FFmpeg support.

Code: Select all

./configure --without-ffmpeg
make
sudo make install

Re: Getting volume right on burned CD's

Before you export the recording, check that there are no loud clicks or bumps in the recording, then use the Normalize effect and normalize to -1 dB. Then export in WAV format and burn to CD.

Re: Peak Frequency Over Time

Unfortunately Audacity does not have an automatic tool to do that. You can get a visual display of frequency over time with the track spectrogram view (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/track_drop_down_menu.html#spgram) but there is no facility to export that in numerical form. You could do it ma...

Re: Reverb: Audacity Manual/Code mis-match

There was a pop-up window in my way with a "Stop" button on it and I could not switch without stopping the preview. Which is wrong - the manual or the code? :?: Have you increased the default settings for preview length in "Edit > Preferences > Playback"? Perhaps your expectatio...

Re: All I need to do is burn my cassettes to CD's

Now how to I save this so I can burn it to a CD ? You need to "Export" it as one or more WAV files. If you export it as one WAV file you will get a CD with one audio track that plays from start to end of the entire recording. If you want multiple tracks on the CD you need to export each &...

Re: Choppiness and Skips appear at 6:45:47 in Long Recording

uhesltj: I've asked about the 6:45:47 issue on the developers mailing list as I'm out of ideas.
If they come up with anything I'll post here.
