Re: How to align multiple tracks to the right
You could reverse the tracks, align them with zero, delete the 30 seconds, reverse them again and do the alignement with zero a second and last time. Yes, I thought of that too, but it could be rather slow with long podcast recordings. Is there an actual use case for the Audacity functions: "T...

Does "jellyfish.ny" fit the bill? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 68#p160968

Re: How to align multiple tracks to the right
I will greatly appreciate advice as to how to align all tracks to the end of the longest track in order to delete the last 30 seconds of loud music. Use the Time Shift tool to slide each of the shorter tracks so that the end lines up with the longest track. Sadly the "Tracks menu > Align"...

Re: Low sound with LP120 Auditechnica and Audacity
If your computer has a stereo "Line" input then you could try Line out -> Line in.
If that works (without distorting) then use whichever sounds best.

Re: Blumlein Panning
Just use the track "pan" slider (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/au ... s.html#pan)
It ceases to be a Blumlein pair if the gains are not precisely matched, but it will still pan the sound.

Re: Portable (load "somelib.lsp") -- why not?
I wouldn't put the magic number 8 in the code, which assumes the seven letter folder name "nyquist". Though the folder name IS "nyquist". True that it will break if the name is changed, but counting back to the previous file separator will break if the folder hierarchy is change...

Re: Audacity as EQ processor .
I don't know of any ready made solution, but a couple of things come to mind that may help to develop your own solution: SoX is a command line program that can be used in real time (though more usually used for processing files) http://sox.sourceforge.net/ It includes an Equalizer. There is no direc...

Re: Low sound with LP120 Auditechnica and Audacity
Looks like I could get a better signal from the RCA connected to the MIC line of PC computer. Probably not. I've not seen the specifications for the Audio-technica LP120, but on most record players the RCA output is either for connecting to a "phono" input (a special input for use with tu...

Re: Low sound with LP120 Auditechnica and Audacity
All levels (control panels and Audacity) set to maximum, and here is what I get : That is a little on the low side, but not excessively low. An ideal recording level is about half the track height (-6 dB) whereas your image is showing about 1/4 track height (about -12 dB). The Amplify or Normalize ...
