Re: Division of large audio file into smaller ones.
There are several ways to split large audio files. One way is to create "splits" at various points (click on the waveform where you want the split, then press Ctrl+i ). When you have made all the splits that you require, select one of the sections by double clicking in it so that it become...

Re: While recording guitar, I listen to it with delay
Turn off "Software Playthrough" (Transport menu), then configure your sound card to play the input back out through your headphones. Note that this is only possible if the same audio device (sound card) is used for both recording and playback and even then, not all sound cards provide this...

Re: Searching the online Manual
Another good way to search for stuff related to Audacity is to use the custom Google search box on the Audacity web site. http://audacityteam.org/ The search box in the upper right corner of that page goes to a Google search that searches the Audacity web sites (including the manual, this forum and ...

Re: How to delete a project ?
If you saved the project there will be an Audacity project file (example "myrecording.aup") and a project folder (example "myrecording_data"). The project file and the project data folder will be in the same directory as each other. To completely delete the saved project, delete ...

Re: recording mixes from my DAW -- audio oddities
Re. the "pumping compression", one possibility is that it could be some sort of automatic gain effect. Check that all of the Windows Sound "Enhancements" are turned off. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements Rendering in Reaper doesn...

Re: recording mixes from my DAW -- audio oddities
I've tried to use Audacity for recording my Reaper mixes, Why do you want to do that? Is it just a test, or is there a practical purpose? I've tested my Audacity-recorded wav files with the ones rendered from software in Reaper, and there's a definite difference in quality; Audacity's at a disadvan...

Re: My first and likely last post.
When this forum first opened there was little need for "moderating" posts or other anti-spam measures, but as the forum grew in popularity (and "search engine ranking") the amount of spam grew at an alarming rate to a point where there were more than 100 spam posts per day. More ...

Re: How to align multiple tracks to the right
I'm using the names "sub-menu 1/2/3" rather than actual names because the actual names are to be decided. The "cascade" would be the same depth as now. "Main" menu items being "File, Edit, View, Transport, etc" "Sub-menus" being one level below: Exam...

Re: My first and likely last post.
Thanks Gale, I guessed that it would be something like that. "49 out of 50 such posts are spam" makes it tricky to spot the 1 out of 50 that isn't. I'll raise this on the moderators list to see if we can make improvement here. Thanks Mark, glad that is cleared up. The Audacity community is...
