Re: VOB files in audacity

It looks to me like it has been heavily "compressed" ("dynamic range compression": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_range_compression).
How does it sound?
If it doesn't sound distorted then I'd assume that it is OK.

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

Some more ideas: How about reducing the number of controls by combining "Label text", "Minimum number of digits in label", and "Begin numbering from:" into one text control? As we have text input for the "time" values, why not allow hours:min:seconds.milliseco...

On reflection, the other text boxes have reasonable error checking, so I'm happy to make this a text input too. I've updated the plug-in in the first post.

Re: Recording from a computer game

Is there a certain sound card that anyone would recommend for a Windows XP user? A USB sound card. Your old XP machine is not going to last forever, If you have a USB sound card then when you change your computer you can use the USB sound card on the new computer. One thing about USB sound cards is...

Re: White Noise (static detecton)

Most PC and laptop sound cards have a microphone input, but generally the quality is somewhere between poor and atrocious. A few laptops have a "Line Input" connector, or a combined Microphone/Line input. Many laptops only have a "mic" input. To connect your amp to the computer y...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

To be clear, this addition to the plug-in does not change any existing feature in the current plug-in. The slightly weird looking behaviour that you point out is already in the plug-in that we have been shipping for however many years. The new feature just makes the strange behaviour visible in a di...

Over and out.
Well none of this is about Audacity, which is what this forum is about (and actually I did read a couple of them, so there's really no need for the sarcasm).

Can you fill out a bit of detail, ideally make an model number for each item, then we can probably give a more useful answer.

Re: Logarithmic Sliders

Do you mean for instance a slider that goes from -120 dB to 0 dB, with -12 dB exactly in the middle? Currently the slider widgets are linear. In the case of a "volume slider" (for example the main sliders in the Mixer Board) it would be useful to have a logarithmic scale from -infinity to...
