Re: delay effect

I've used a technique I found online: -- 10 (decay amount) -- .0045 (delay time) -- 30 (# of echoes) I've gone back to the very first version of the delay effect and still those settings do not produce a "robot voice" effect. Those settings must be wrong. If you want to try the old versio...

Re: delay effect

How old was the old version that you were using? Do you know what the Audacity version number was?

I've tested those settings in the previous (2012) version of the Delay effect and it does very little other than adding a slight reverb-like effect, Definitely not a "robot voice".

Re: playback with audacity

The short answer is "press the play button", but I guess that isn't working for you, so please tell us what operating system you are using, which version of Audacity, and describe the problem in detail so that we can help.

Re: delay effect

Has the delay effect changed? The delay effect was last updated in July 2012. the delay effect doesn't do the "robot voice" effect the same way. How did the old version do that? The current version should be able to do everything that the old version did, but you may need slightly differe...

Re: Using Bass/Treble Equalizer

What settings are you using in "Bass and Treble"? Could you post a short sample (just a few seconds, in WAV format, without "Bass and Treble" applied) of the audio that you are trying to process. See here for how to attach an audio sample: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic....

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME

We get this problem complained of once or twice a week that users cannot understand the dialogue when they add a dot in the file name. I've seen it come up quite often on the forum so I agree that it would be good to improve this. What does Goldwave do if you enter "Song.shanty.mp3" as th...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

It would be good to specify what those are. Are they feature requests to do with beats that have not been recorded? No, not unrecorded feature requests, just some varied practical applications that come to mind. If you'd like some examples: 1) You are making an hour long improvised podcast, perhaps...

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME

Users who want to use non-standard extensions should have to turn that on somewhere That would probably be difficult to implement and even more difficult to give sensible warnings about "unusual" but "legal" file extensions. For example, it is perfectly correct to use the extens...

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME

Thanks, that is clear now. File names have two parts, the actual name, and the "file extension". The file extension is the part after the dot in the file name, for example, if you save a Microsoft Word document file with the name "letter_to_mum", Microsoft Word will save it as &q...

Re: Waveform moves, time stays still - does not seem likely

If I load a file, scroll using whatever method, I see the audio waveform go from right to left. Can go on and on and on and on. Yet the time stands still. How are you doing that? See here in the manual for some tips about how to navigate around a project: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/zoomin...
