Re: Regular Interval Region Labels
I think they just want the "final" label where the simple minded would expect the "final" label - abutting the end of the selection. But that is really an "extra" label IMO. It's two ways of looking at the same thing. If you are putting up fence posts at regular interv...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels
I'm not into drum loops, but I still don't see the need to specify label interval and number of labels. It's not really important here because I don't intend to add that feature to this plug-in - there is already a "bars and beats" plug-in that can do that (though I was hoping to make tha...

Re: How to measure the dynamic range ?
I understood that the "real physical" dynamic range depends on physical measures with the sonometer but I was thinking that it could be anyway a relationship between levels of signal and the real life! It depends what you want. We often get asked "how can I measure the SPL with Audac...

Re: Game Engine Uni student needs some help!
Audacity is a multi-track audio editing program. Some game developers may use it for creating sounds for their games, or they may use other software for that. Other than that there is no connection that I can think of between Audacity and game development. There is no direct relationship between Aud...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels
Here is a version using the proposed "placement" method.
For simplicity I have stripped out all of the "advanced" options such as region labels, start time, label name, label numbering...

Re: Improving the "Change Pitch..." module
it's also evident that it's a better quality module. I'm not sure that it is a matter of "better quality" regarding the code, though the sound quality is almost always better with the Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift effect. The two effects use different algorithms. "Change Pitch"...

Re: vst reverb plugins. Are they as good as hardware
There are literally thousands of reverb effects (hardware and software) ranging in price from free, to $thousands. Most sound engineers have a few favourites that they like to work with, and a few more for unusual situations. The important thing is to use reverb that suits the material. Most reverb ...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels
What should the behaviour be if the specified interval is longer than the selection? Currently we throw an error. I think this is reasonable because it is likely to be due to user error. Logically and practically there is no need to throw an error. If we are "fitting the closest interval" ...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels
This is my latest version. I've not added label name options or region label options yet, so it just has the necessary controls for placing the labels. regularintervals.png Time to place first label: as in old versions. Label placement method: "Fit closest interval" is the default. Same as...
