Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

It's hard to know when only small numbers of people comment Indeed but I suggest two controls to manage the produced label text are probably reasonable. Even that is one control less than now. I'm not sure how that would work. We could have one control for label text and one for label number, but w...

Re: Shure sm58 help

What's the show? I don't think you ever told us what you're doing That's the crucial bit. If you (Koz) remember bgravato (participant in the longest topic on the forum), he had a specific need (recording one acoustic guitar) and ended up with a 2 channel ART USB pre-amp and a really nice (though st...

Re: Shure sm58 help

On a sidenote: What's the benefit of having and off and on switch for the phantom power when it doesn't affect the mics that don't need it? Probably the most important thing: Never ever use a ribbon mic with phantom power unless the instructions for the microphone explicitly say that you must use p...

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping

I did try High Pass before writing but I did not find it effective unless I set it at 4000 Hz at which frequency it impaired the intended audio more than Pop Mute to my ears. A fairly steep roll-off is required for it to be effective. The frequency needs to be fairly low so as to not affect the voi...

Re: Can't find help project

If you were attempting it on a virtual machine under Ubuntu, that could be the reason. That was my first attempt. I then tried it on a real, (but old) hardware with little more success. At that time I didn't really have the will or inclination to persevere with something that appeared so convoluted...

Re: Recording cursor lags behind waveform

You could try adjusting the buffer setting (Edit > Preferences > Recording). The default value is 100. Some users achieve better performance by changing this to a higher or lower number. If you set it too large or too small, recording may stop altogether, so try changing it a small amount at a time ...

Re: Recording cursor lags behind waveform

Note that 2.0.5 has not been through our acceptance testing yet so we need assurance that it will fix the problem. That's a bit of a Catch 22, because we only officially support the current release version. You should also be aware that Microsoft ended support for Windows XP SP 2 several years ago....

Re: Can't find help project

I will write my own tutorial when I'll have some time, so that other people can build it under 10 minutes which is what it should take, not 4 days due to poorly written documentation. I'll volunteer to test your instructions. I rarely use Windows at all these days and gave up trying to build on Win...

Re: Newby: No sound being picked up by software

I don't know what you mean by "induction mic". Does it plug into a USB socket or into a small round "Mic in" socket? The microphone needs to be selected as the recording input in the device toolbar . You also need to check in the Windows Sound Control Panel that the microphone is...
