Check which version of Audacity you are using: "Help > About Audacity".
What is the full version number?

Re: Measure between -23dB and -18dB RMS.

You will need to juggle with the compressor and the Amplify (or Normalize) effects to get both the peak level and the RMS level within the required ranges.

Re: overdub peak

Yes the "auto" setting is an effect on demand. It is only "automatic" in the sense that you set the desired maximum mixed peak level and the effect sets the gain offsets for all tracks, it doesn't just tell you what offset to manually apply.

Re: overdub peak

Furthermore, the amplification of the tracks hasn't to be permanently, the found value could simply serve as a gain offset for all tracks. Essentially that is the same as the "particularly talented Master Fader" that Koz mentioned. Users would be able to add or subtract an offset for all ...

Re: Computer "clicks" when Audacity starts up...?

Does anyone know if some board (like the eClaro) would "click" like this when being enumerated/checked? I don't know specifically about that device, but I don't think it is uncommon for some devices to produce a click when probed by software. I have one sound card that clicks on start-up,...

Re: RIPPING VINYL Processing 24Bit 96KHz recording to CD-A /

Some people still claim though that they hear subtly better sound recording and storing at 192000 Hz. As in my previous post, an audio device may perform better or worse at some other sample rate, though usually the difference in quality is undetectable unless the sample rate is so high that there ...

Re: Suggestions for bundled GVerb plugin

GVerb has been replaced by the (much better) "Reverb" effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/reverb.html

timeshift.ny is an optional plug-in. It has never been shipped as part of the Audacity release.

Re: Cutting the intro and one section in the middle of a tra

Probably the easiest way would be to select the intro and delete it, then select the other part that you want to delete and delete that. On the other hand, it sounds like the way that you are trying to do it should also work. Note that for most actions it is necessary for playback to be stopped (not...

Re: RIPING VINY Processing 24Bit 96KHz recording to CD-A / D

Dou you recommend me better this way that for example: recording in 32bits 192Khz (my sound card supports 32bits 96Khz.) and then exporting to cd quality or even to 24bits 96Khz wav? There is no point in recording higher than 96 kHz. Doing so will increase the file size but adds no additional audio...
