Re: Spectrogram questions

I was looking at the Spectrogram features built into Audacity I presume that you mean "Plot Spectrum" http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/plot_spectrum.html and was hoping to see something comparable to what is in iZotope Rx3 (advanced) Well I can see a few differences, but what in parti...

Re: Play reverb effect while singing?

Audacity does not have "real time" effects. The recording is always "dry" (exactly what the sound system gives it without modification). In Audacity you apply effects after recording. Because effects permanently change the audio, it is a good idea to make a backup copy of each re...

Re: USB Turntable doesn`t record

Audacity recording runs, but there`s no sound in playback mode. If the recording is successful you should see a blue wiggly waveform in the new recorded track. Windows will often switch off normal headphone/speaker playback when a USB audio device is plugged in. See here for how to re-enable playba...

Re: Tunning guitar , "cuatro"

Audacity does not have an instrument tuner. You can generate a 440 Hz tone using the sine wave generator: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/generate_menu.html#tone You can test the frequency of a recorded note using this "Pitch Detect" plug-in: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_...

Re: RIPPING VINYL Processing 24Bit 96KHz recording to CD-A/D

I have export dithering for down-sampling on export set to Triangular In the past I recommended using "Triangle" rather than the default "Shaped" dither. In old versions of Audacity the Triangle dither would produce better results for stereo tracks, However, there was recently (...

Re: Issues with Default Programs for certain File Extensions

I presume that you previously had an older version of Audacity installed and set up file associations for that? There is a "limitation" (bug) in Windows, that the registry cannot handle file associations for a program if that program, or a program with the same name, was previously install...

Re: Linux Problem installing steinberg mi4

Audacity does not support MIDI in or MIDI out. Neither recording or playback of MIDI are supported. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_opening_and_saving_files.html#midi http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Midi If you need MIDI for other programs, you may be out of luck with the Steinberg mi4. Re: Automatic noise reduction? - newbie

Audacity does not have automatic noise reduction. Audacity just records the audio that it receives from the sound system. The most likely explanation is that the automatic noise reduction is one of the Windows sound system "enhancements". See here how to turn the enhancements off: http://m...

"File menu > Export" to open the File Export dialogue: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fi ... ialog.html
Select "MP3" where it says "Save as type:"
Then click on the "Options" button.
