Re: Envelope Tool issue
Just a quick update. I've looked at the code and found where the bug lies. Also an easy way to reproduce the fault. 1) Start a new project and generate 30 seconds of audio 2) Add a label track. 3) Add envelope points at around 5, 10 and 20 seconds. 4) Drag the middle envelope point off the audio tra...

Re: Plugin request or maybe just a hint in the correct direc
I also tried to "read" the nyquist code of this plugin, but I struggle to find out where the "randomness" is coming from and to change it according to my needs, to pan on a fixed time That plug-in was written by David R Sky (who sadly passed away in 2009). He wrote a lot of the ...

Re: Plugin request or maybe just a hint in the correct direc
Random Pan is going in the right direction, but it's random.. There is a plug-in called "Panning (LFO)" that is similar to that, but the panning is regular. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Panning_.28LFO.29 I think that this will do what you want, but if you woul...

Re: Envelope Tool issue
If there is a label track above the audio track, the "envelope tool" has a strange behaviour when I try to "grab" the nearest (or to set a new) envelope point with the mouse on. Yes, that's a bug, and I think that you're the first person to report it. Solution: 1. If you work on...

Re: Waveform is flat on top and bottom
If the CD was "ripped" (digitally extracted) then what you see in Audacity should be (virtually) identical to what is on the CD. If you "recorded" the CD, then that is not the case - the quality of the recording depends on the quality of the CD player, the sound card, and the sou...

Re: Selection Does Not Highlight
You may be clicking and dragging too high.
To select part of a track, you need to click and drag on the actual track, not on the Timeline above the tracks.

Re: Shortening .wma file
Audacity does not act directly on files. To edit a file, you will "import" the file into Audacity (Audacity "reads" the file and makes a copy of the data). Then you perform the edit. Then you "export" from Audacity to create a new file. (I would highly recommend that yo...

Re: Windows 7, Audacity selection issuses.
Audacity is having issuse to keep the selection audio of what I want. When using "Export Selection", you need to select the actual audio - that is, the part of the audio that you wish to export needs to be highlighted. In the next version of Audacity (2.0.6), "Export Selection" ...

Re: Can't record in Stereo Presonus USB Audiobox
I used to be able to record a rhythm guitar track in stereo while plugged in the left only. Not really "stereo". That is "mono on 2 channels". You can produce a 2 channel mono track from a (1 channel) mono track by duplicating the track (select the track then press Ctrl+D), then...
