As you say, works well on simple click tracks and drum tracks.
Are you going to go for gold and write one that works on complex music?

Re: Plugin request or maybe just a hint in the correct direc
but is there also the option to define how long the sound should stay on each side after the pan? like "switchovertime: 6 seconds", "remaintime" 2 seconds... In that plug-in, no, but if linear panning is OK then it would be quite easy to code. The underlying mechanism for pannin...

Re: Nyquist plugin for envelope inversion
Have a look at "Pop Mute". It does something very similar to what you are asking. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Pop_Mute As far as i understand i need 3 steps. - Analysing the sound file to get the data of the amplitudes - Write a function to set new values for ...

Yes. It's easier to see at a quick glance what the phase relationship is rather than having to interpret is fluffy ball.kozikowski wrote:OIC. So if the jellyfish is a ball of yarn (to cross a metaphor) this would cut through the mess and tell you that a majority of the work is probably OK.

Which version of Linux Mint 16 have you tried?
I've not noticed any problems with Cinnamon.
The systems that are causing you problems seem to be those that rely heavily on graphics acceleration. What sort of video card are you using? If NVidia are you using the open source or the proprietary drivers?

Re: Input only comes in on left side left HELP!
The Alesis io2 express is a 2 channel interface. Each channel is independent of the other. If you are using only one microphone, ensure that it is plugged into the left channel of the interface and set Audacity to record "1 channel (mono)" in the device toolbar.

Re: Problems recording tracks
If your computer uses Windows, try both the "MME" and the "Direct Sound" settings in the ("host") device toolbar to see if one gives better results than the other.
