Re: adding snare drum starting with one beat
By now I expect several Audacity aficionados are shaking their heads in sorrow. Yes, I know there has to be an easier way than this. Can anyone show me that way? If the music was made with real instruments played by real people, then this is tricky because the tempo, hence the spaces between beats ...

Re: Really low volume level recording from turntable
Hello. I have the exact same problem using a USB turntable to digitize some old vinyl. I'm using the USB Codec with input levels all the way up and the recording level is just really low. Check to see if your turntable has a level control (sometimes "hidden" on the underside of the turnta...

Start at 1990 samples.
End at 1,304,676 samples.
Don't encode as MP3, AAC or WMA. Export the selection in a lossless format (such as WAV or FLAC) or if you need a compressed format use OGG.

Re: Logarithmic Sliders
Looking at Steve's slider image, isn't the point of logarithmic sliders that you get most granularity over the most audibly important volume ranges? Absolutely. That is entirely the point. For the sake of simplicity, let's say that you have a linear slider where 0 dB to -1 dB is 1 cm. Taking < -96 ...

Re: Pitch Plot over time
Have you looked at the alternative audio track views, such as "spectrogram" and "Pitch (EAC)"?

Re: Improving the "Change Pitch..." module
I disagree a Frequency control is "advanced". Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as just adding a frequency control. In order for both the bass slider and treble slider to work correctly, there would need to be a separate frequency control for each. That in itself may still be OK for ...

Re: Logarithmic Sliders
I presume that you don't use the Mixerboard. Compared to "Mixer Windows" in other multi-track programs, the sliders in the Audacity Mixerboard are horribly clumsy.Edgar wrote:generally, I hate logarithmic controls
This is a logarithmic slider.
