Re: I want to loop play at 8 times normal speed
So it would be like the 3X speed in the transcription option. But I want to do it at 8X. Additionally I want to loop play the wave file at this high play-back rate. You can do that by adding a Time Track http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/time_tracks.html Set the range to 100% to 800% then move t...

How are you doing that?Señor Normal wrote:I want to record radio programs, but with the current quality is unthinkable.
In what way is the sound "bad"?

Re: Playback is high-speed and crackly
My guess is that some other program is trying to get exclusive access to the sound card. When you first start Audacity, what options are listed in the record and playback boxes of the device toolbar ? Do you have any other audio programs running either in the foreground or background? (Your web brow...

Re: Playback is high-speed and crackly
I've split this to a new topic because there was no mention of crackle in the other topic, so this is likely to be a different issue. Which version of Mint? Which version of Audacity? What are you trying to record? Is the problem only on audio that you have recorded, or does it also happen with impo...

Re: What effect/filter settings could improve this?
would it be possible for the real time monitoring out of the headphone jack on the fast track to sound ok, but the final file could be distorted as the computer Yes, very possible. Headphones in the Fast Track will monitor the sound as it comes into the Fast Track. Even if the USB packs up altogeth...

Re: Configure Realtek for Audacity in Linux Mint 13
If the problem is on a laptop computer and the recording is done through the "Mic In" socket, then that does not surprise me at all. The mic inputs on laptops (and "on board" sound for full size PCs) are usually complete rubbish suitable only for low quality Skype and similar. Th...

Re: Audio removed from track
Also I don't know if this matters but I recorded it in the highest hz/sec on the dropdown menu in audacity, which is 384000 hz/sec. That setting is way over the top for audio recording. I'd recommend that you use the default 44100 Hz sample rate. Very high sample rates pose a number of problems. It...

Re: Measures and Click Tracks...
ideally (IMO) a Click Track generator would have an option to simultaneously generate labels at the beats (or bars). Currently Nyquist plug-ins can only return one "result". We can have a plug-in that returns a click track. We can have a plug-in that returns labels. We can't currently hav...

Re: Measures and Click Tracks...
Topic moved to "Adding Features". Currently it is possible to "snap to" any of the available time units, but there are no time units for Bars/beats. (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/selection_toolbar.html#snap) There is also a weak "magnetic" effect when selecting ...
