Re: Low samplerate audio sounds lowpassed?
Your initial theory / guess that Audacity cuts frequencies above 2.5 kHz for 20 kHz sample rate is not correct, at least not for the current version of Audacity. You've not said which version of Audacity you are using, but your description of available settings suggests that you are using an obsolet...

Re: EFFECT/AMPLIFY - odd behavior?
The slider range is +/- 50 dB and that takes priority. Thinking about it, that is perhaps a minor bug, or at least room for an enhancement. I think what should happen is either, (a) typed values greater than +/- 50 dB should be allowed, or (b) values greater than +/- 50 dB should not be allowed. I'...

Re: EFFECT/AMPLIFY - odd behavior?
I notice that the manual says nothing about that (though that is correct). I'll add a note to the manual.Robert J. H. wrote:Amplify has a 50 dB limit in each direction.

Re: starting audacity on multiple files?
You can do that by giving Audacity a "lof" file (List Of Files)rdm wrote:I would like to start Audacity and give it a list of audio files.

Note that when giving Audacity a file name that includes spaces, the file name must be quoted.

Re: Track Display flow
How do I get this back to seeing the cursor on the screen while it is recording and showing me what is being recorded? Check in "Edit > Preferences > Tracks". "Update display while playing" should be ticked (enabled). Is it possible to set the cursor at the center and have the t...

There is no such thing as Audacity 5.0.1.moriarty7 wrote:I have installed Audacity version 5.0.1 on my Windows 7 prof 64 bit PC.
To check the Audacity version, look in "Help > About Audacity".
The current version of Audacity is 2.0.5 and it is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: Low samplerate audio sounds lowpassed?
The maximum frequency that can be supported is half of the sample rate (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyquist_frequency), thus a sample rate of 20 kHz has a cutoff just below 10 kHz. Audacity does not automatically apply additional filtering beyond that. Additional filtering may occur on export,...
