Re: Connecting Files

Using Audacity 2.0.5: 1) Import the tracks (they will all be one above the other). 2) "Ctrl+A" (select All) 3) "Tracks menu > Align Tracks > Align End to End" http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tracks_menu.html#align 4) "File menu > Export" http://manual.audacityteam....

Re: Using Audacity from a prerecorded-file.

(I am not putting what was said in quotes due to some issue it makes everything part of a quote block of text when I only want one section... 1) Click the "Post Reply" button. A new message window opens. 2) Ensure that the editing cursor is at the place that you want the quote inserted. 3...

Re: Flat line all through

Have you checked that these files play correctly in other programs?
What format are these files? ("Right click on file > Properties" will probably give some information).

Re: Car Horn Masking

It would probably be better to just put on some restful music that you like.
The ideal solution would be soundproofing (double/triple glazing), but I guess that is too costly?

Re: How to remove "exclusive" audio stamp?

If the problem occurs on just one track, then you will probably need to purchase that track from "blablabl;a.com". If the problem occurs on all tracks, then you may have a fake version of Audacity. The correct (official) place to get Audacity from is here: http://audacityteam.org/download/...

Re: Soft Clipper with Adjustable Threshold

I've restructured your code a bit so that I can see what it is doing (also added support for stereo tracks). Perhaps you can confirm that this produces the same effect as your code (I think it does): ;nyquist plug-in ;version 1 ;type process ;name "Adjustable Soft Clipper" ;action "Cl...

Re: Manipulating Decibels

I don't know what Robert and Koz think, but to me, the original WAV file sounds like it is already somewhat compressed. I'm wondering if that is a side effect of the original recording being at too high a level.

Re: Manipulating Decibels

You will see that the painter's tape which we oh-so-expertly applied to the edges is torn off a little. This is due to a puppy who seemed to think it tasted good. What's the chances of a picture of you at the mic? Oh, dear. Haha - well, does this one do? I'm wondering if you are tending to l...

Re: Manipulating Decibels

I'm sorry but this is beyond my miniscule comprehension of sound recording. I will forge on to try to figure out some sort of solution, though. I'd not noticed much problem with high frequencies, but I did notice some "boominess". It's not a major problem, but definitely there. I found it...

Re: Manipulating Decibels

The problem that I'm having with the levels is that there is rather a lot of variation. I have marked the gaps between sentences with black "split" lines. Notice how the level at the start of each sentence is much bigger (louder) than the rest of the sentence. It is very difficult to do an...
