Re: Using ASIO with Audacity
Audacity cannot be shipped with ASIO support due to licensing restrictions.
ASIO support can only be enabled by building Audacity from the source code and linking to Steinberg's ASIO SDK. There is more information about this here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... .html#asio

Re: Manipulating Decibels
You can hear the result in the following project (download *.aup and the data folder of the same name): Overall the I think the level is closer to what they are looking for, though perhaps a fraction too quiet in places. For example, between 1:20 and 2:20 the peak level never gets above -6.5 dB and...

Re: Can't hear songs after Lame decoder dowloaded -
the item I created in audacity has 6 part songs in it spliced together. Lets start there. How did you create the song? Did you download the music from the Internet, or record it with a USB cassette player, or ....? Does "your creation" play correctly in Audacity? Even when I saved this en...

Re: change label output format
The formatting that you see in the file is the format that Audacity uses to create and keep track of labels. There is no provision within Audacity for other label formats. You can probably reformat the file uses Excel or similar. Note that if you reformat the label file then you won't be able to imp...

Re: No Project Tab
I'm watching tutorials and they have a Project Tab They are using a really really old version of Audacity that has been obsolete for a long time. What is the tutorial about? Is it covered by any of the tutorials in the manual? The manual is available in the Audacity Help menu and there are some tut...

Unfortunately we don't have the resources to port our software to Linux at this time, If at some time in the future you do have the resources to port to Linux, "Jack Transport" (http://jackaudio.org/files/docs/html/transport-design.html) would be a fantastic feature for Linux users. Unfor...

Re: Car Horn Masking
I heard that if you could match the same characterisitics of the sound you are masking then you won't need to have the volume as high and it would be effective. That's true, but the "characteristics" that you need to match are the same annoying frequencies that are causing the problem. Sl...
