Please give step by step instructions for how to reproduce this problem. In particular, which file formats have the problem?

The file names would be: Thursday Before Lunch Thursday After Lunch Friday After Breakfast, etc. I use numbers: MyBigProject001 MyBigProject002 MyBigProject003 ... The leading zeros keep the names in chronological order beyond "MyBigProject009" when sorted alpha-numerically by my file bro...

What is your recording device?

Audacity is primarily an audio editor. Support for MIDI is very limited - basically you can play MIDI files, but not much else.
