Re: set mp3 kbps for mono to half of stereo to get same qual
my understanding is that kbps is per second, no matter what happens in that second. kbps does indeed mean "kilobits per second" If it is a stereo recording and there are two channels, and I export as mp3 at 96 kbps, I could say that each channel gets 48 kbps. For "2 channel stereo&qu...

Re: Varying latency during track
@bordonbert, if you open the Windows Control Panel then open System then the "Advanced" section, then open the "Performance" settings and click the "Advanced" tab, you can set processor scheduling to adjust for best performance of programs instead of background process...
Re: Noise
There are two things that frequently cause that type of noise: 1) Excessive use of noise removal effects. 2) MP3 compression. I suspect that it is a combination of both. The solution is: Start with a better recording so that less noise removal is needed. Use the least amount of noise reduction that ...

Re: Varying latency during track
I already have the process affinity set to all 4 CPUs. That's not going to help, in fact it could be worse than leaving it on default/auto. Audacity is not multi-threaded so it can't take advantage of multiple parallel cores. I'm on Linux and I just let the computer sort out which core to use. When...

Re: can I stream audacity recording on the fly?
Anyone know if Audacity can be put into this type of mode? No it can't. Perhaps look at Twonky Server or Serviio DLNA server. There may be free or trial versions of these but I don't think there are currently free versions. If you want to do this with free software you may need to use Linux as your...

Re: Audacity Effects Interface Issues
If you need 1.3.7 you can get it here: http://code.google.com/p/audacity/downloads/list?can=4 though this is not really recommended as a solution. Please note that Audacity 1.3.x is obsolete and no longer supported. I have a similar effect that I made as a Nyquist plug-in. The settings will be diff...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
The first thing that I'd do with that space is to get some carpet down, preferably with old fashioned "felt" underlay below it. If you can't get the old "felt" stuff, then aim for a fairly dense underlay rather than just the soft foam stuff. It does not have to be a fitted carpet...

Re: Audacity Effects Interface Issues
The problem I am bringing here is my attempts to use killerringer.dll. Following a tutorial the interface for Killerringer had both sliders and boxes to write the exact values (which was necessary as the tutorial called for decimal point values) while on my audacity I only had sliders that could no...

Recording from what? A USB microphone?RajeshKumar001 wrote:I was recording yesterday
As well as the noise, does it also record whatever it is that you are trying to record? If it does, could you post a sample that includes some of that.
