Re: Combining Windows Media Player Plaback with Microphone I
Hi I am trying to record a vocal track over an accompaniment played by Windows Media Player. Audacity supports multiple tracks. Rather than using Windows Media Player to play the accompaniment it would be better to Import the accompaniment track into Audacity and then record your new track. There i...

Re: USB hub + BLUE Yeti microphone
Generally, using a USB hub is not recommended. You should certainly not share the hub with any other high data throughput devices. My guess is that if the mic is the only device connected to the hub there will probably be no noticeable detrimental effects. The question that I would be asking myself ...

Re: Creating loops with metronome
The old "Acid" program was great for looping as it had many useful features and clever technology specifically designed for the task. Audacity on the other hand is a more general audio editing tool. Looping is possible with Audacity, but much less convenient and quite awkward to work with....

Re: Open multiple audio files into one track
It was added to the (alpha) source code Fri Aug 23rd 07:15:13 2013 UTC and the wording for the updated Align menu was added a week later, so that would make it "new in Audacity 2.0.5" (released October 22nd 2013).waxcylinder wrote:This has been introduced only fairly recently

- Ctrl+A
- Shift+Home
- Ctrl+T

Re: set mp3 kbps for mono to half of stereo to get same qual
So I think that means that if you halve the bit rate for a "joint stereo" file that you made mono, you will almost certainly make it sound worse. Yes, though how noticeable that will be depends on the audio and what other settings were used. On the other hand, if you have a stereo track a...

Have a look near the bottom of the Transport menu and ensure that "Software Playthrough" is off (not selected).

Re: Alignment probem exporting and importing
Thanks all, I think you've solved my problem I really appreciate the advise. I have one more question, is there any way we can get audacity tracks individually into Logic for eq mixing etc.? I'm guessing export muliple won't work. Yes you can use Export Multiple (based on tracks), but in order to m...
