Audacity (open source, free) can do that: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sa ... xport.html

Re: generate sound from a list of numbers

I need to generate the sound sequence which corresponds to a sequence of sound amplitudes encoded as numbers. What sort of sounds? You only mention controlling the amplitude but you don't say anything about the frequency / harmonic content. The "Nyquist" scripting language in Audacity can...

Re: How to convert file .aup to mp3

The AUP file is part (note that it is only "part") of an Audacity project. As Koz wrote, there are two parts to a project. There is a "_data" folder that contains all of the audio data, and there is an AUP file that tells Audacity what to do with that data. To create a normal aud...

Re: Downloading Audio From a website

Audacity can record audio that is playing on your computer. How to do that is described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html Note that copyright restrictions may apply to audio on the Internet. Re: set mp3 kbps for mono to half of stereo to get same qual

The only point I meant about ReplayGain was just if you actually normalize to the analyzed ReplayGain level rather than use a ReplayGain tool to encode the gain to the metadata. You might do that if you still have a player that is not ReplayGain capable. Ah yes, I see, but for music with a large dy...

Looking at the obvious first, does your project have labels?

There's a tutorial here that may help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sp ... racks.html

Here's a C4 (Middle C)

It's just under 10 seconds. If you want it longer, use the "Repeat" effect http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/repeat.html
If you want other notes, use the "Change Pitch" effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/change_pitch.html
