Re: Can vst plugin path be custom set?
Is this a viable future option for Audacity? Personally, I hope so, but it's not easy (see below). What I mean't by incremental scanning is this. Reaper doesn't scan plugins it has already recognised, therefore when a new vst/vsti is added it takes no time at all to add them into its 'database'. al...

Re: Scrolling (?) to the right or left
I'm unable to insert labels during recording (this seems to be the case for Mac but not Windows), I'm not on Mac, but according to the manual " COMMAND + ." should work: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/keyboard_shortcut_reference.html Is there a way to scroll (if that's the proper te...

Re: file won't go over 2GB
I get your point hellosailor, but in this case it is not at all surprising that Audacity fails to create Flac files > 2 GB because that is a known limitation of the Flac encoder that Audacity uses on Windows. The thing that is surprising is that dfmcwade says that an older version of Audacity was ab...

Re: 1 error compiling in VC++ 2008 on Windows 7
Gstreamer is a brand new feature, probably classed as "pre-alpha". It is likely to cause problems at the moment because it is at such an early stage of development. Probably best to go back a few revision to just before Gstreamer support was added. Try Revision: 13097. The idea is to use a...

Re: "Length of filter" for "equalizer" - maximal value
Update: I've just had a quick look, and although the maximum filter size limitation can be removed quite easily, all sorts of weird problems occur once the size goes above about 10000, so unless you want to spend a lot of time on this, it is probably not worth the effort. Why do you need a larger fi...

Re: noise removal
i have recorded something with alot of white noise and music in the background, and i wonder if there are someone who could help me fix the recording? Probably not. If there is a "little" white noise in the background then the Noise Removal effect will probably work quite well: http://man...

Re: "Length of filter" for "equalizer" - maximal value
It can be changed in src/effects/Equalization.cpp, but note that as the filter size increases, abrupt changes in the filter curve will tend to cause more "ringing" at a frequency close to the abrupt change. To avoid ringing you shouldn't go much over the current max.

Re: collapsed track will not expand.
Tracks can be resized (vertically) in two different ways, which can be a bit confusing ;) 1) You can resize a track by dragging the bottom edge of the track with your mouse. 2) You can "collapse / expand" tracks. The second option (collapse / expand) is not quite the same as "resizing...

Re: Recorded Audio hidden before zero
Close Audacity, then go to the Windows Sound Control Panel and check that the microphone is working correctly. You should be able to find a level meter that responds to sounds picked up by the microphone. If that is not working, try "Safely disconnect device" and unplug the mic, then plug ...
