Re: installation errors
Since the first post I have uninstalled and reinstalled repeatedly. Reinstalling Audacity will make no difference unless you also reset the preferences (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/preferences.html#reset) When I try to record it just "stutters" at the start point and then opens a...

To invert a track, use "Effect > Invert".
You may also need to split / join stereo tracks: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sp ... racks.html

Re: Pumping/noise problem with Levelator? Or something else?
Everything sounded fine when I listened to the playback of the original recording. I exported it as a .wav file, then sent the file through Levelator. The results were so bad that I didn't dare submit them. There was all sorts of pumping in the recording, and a whole bunch of noise that I didn't he...

Most commands are disabled during Play, Record and Pause.
Ensure that playback is Stopped (not just paused).

Re: Short gaps and repeats in recording. Latency? Buffering?
That's quite likely. Ubuntu can be quite demanding on hardware, particularly if the video card 3D acceleration is not up to scratch.benaround wrote:I associate this with other programmes running and the processor not coping

Re: installation errors
You've not said which version of Windows you are using, or the exact version of Audacity, or what the exact error message was, but this FAQ probably covers it: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_errors.html#sound_device The "error" messages about FFmpeg are nothing to worry about - t...

Re: Rectivert - Rectification and Inversion
It seems strange to use a name that conflicts with the chaining convention though. I agree that it would be better for plug-in authors to avoid this conflict so I've added a note in the manual warning about the problem. Note that plug-ins on this forum are "unofficial" contributions from ...

Re: Conventions for Nyquist Plug-ins
Names of plug-ins should be brief and preferably provide a reasonably intuitive indication of what the plug-in does. Avoid using a colon (:) in the file name as this is a reserved character for Chains. Ideally the name should use only the usual "safe" characters "A-Z, a-z, 0-9, - _&qu...
