Re: Is there a way to "lock" a clipping?

It's a complicated song, A few tips: Be aware of the "Sync-Lock" mode: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sync_locked_track_groups.html This can be useful for keeping multiple tracks synchronised, but it is also easy to get into a complete mess if you have it enabled by accident. I usua...

Re: Mid-Side decoding

The plug-in is written in a scripting language called "Nyquist". Nyquist plug-ins are plain text files, so can easily be edited in any plain text editor (such as NotePad or NotePad++) You can read about Nyquist plug-ins here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Plug-ins_Reference and...

Re: Can't get correct dB level with spectrum analyzer

The dB level in Plot Spectrum is normalized to give (approximately) 0 dB for a full-scale sine wave. If the sine frequency lies in the middle of an FFT bin, the measurement should be exact, but otherwise the value is extrapolated from the values of adjacent bins. Hanning (Hann) is a good general pur...

I will not be using 2.0.4 again. The current version is 2.0.5. It is recommended to keep your software up to date. It would have been better to find and fix the problem (which I'm guessing is probably just a setting that needs changing), but as you're happy with 2.0 then I'll mark this as "Clo...

Re: How to handle this ?

The problem is that your computer is reporting that there is no capture (recording) device available. Even if you're not recording, Audacity requires a fully functional audio device (playback and recording). Go into the Windows Sound Control Panel and enable an input device - it doesn't matter which...

Also mentioned during this instruction session was stats.ny For unweighted (Z-weighted / Zero Weighted) RMS, there is also RmsCalculate.ny http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=136369#p136369 This does not have the 30 second duration limit of the stats.ny plug-in. Note that the A-Weighted m...

Re: Stop Audacity Recording the Beat and Vocals?

Would it be possible to record this, still hear the backing track and not have the backing track recording as per my first question? No, because: To record what is playing in your browser you need to record what is playing on your computer. If you play back tracks in Audacity, they will be "pl...
